Don taught geography to me at Romsey School from 1979 - 1984. I very much enjoyed his lessons, especially when he digressed from teaching cliff erosion and ox-bow lakes and told us of his experiences in Burma in WW2. I still remember some of them to this day. He was an excellent teacher and very well respected by all the pupils as a firm but fair man. Not only was he a good teacher, he was a great man who lived a very full and successful life.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
